Get The Look – Volt Cafe Organic Beauty Project

Natural and organic beauty is coming more and more to the forefront of people’s minds. Whether it’s because they are starting to take care of their health through an organic lifestyle, they’ve become aware of possible hazards in what they are currently using or they’ve just seen the power of what naturals can do, it’s all good.

Many other make-up artists I know are starting to use natural and organics in their kit as they realise that they can live up to their ‘mainstream’ counterparts. Linda Ohrstrom, Beauty Director at Volt Magazine has started an Organic Beauty Project on Volt Cafe because she believes in it so much. We have had great fun swapping notes and her enthusiasm has spurred me on even more. I was so pleased to shoot a beauty story for the project, the aim being to show that you can have amazing strong editorial beauty using natural and organic products. I think we did it – here is the story so you can see what you think –

Thank you, glad you like it! That is great you are trying to use cruelty free and green products too. Powder minerals are great for oily skins as they help to combat shine – I love W3LL PEOPLE’s one. If you prefer a liquid Vapour’s Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation can help to balance out oil – it can feel a little oily but don’t let that put you off, it’s worth a try, I would still use a powder over the top to set it. Kjaer Weis’ new compact foundation could also be great for an oilier skin as it gives a matter finish. Also look at Couleur Caramel’s Hydracoton foundation as it gives a powder finish so is suited to an oiler skin.
