The no makeup-make-up look reigned the spring/summer runways (the days are getting longer – it’s on its way!!) Models everywhere sported fresh glowing skin and bare faces, the girls at Marc Jacobs actually wore no make-up – all concentration was put into their skincare. Girls at Christopher Kane, Chloe, Jil Sandler and Stella McCartney to name a few also sported luminous skin and not much else.
The trend for minimal make-up is clear this coming season but don’t worry you don’t have to down tools completely. The girls at Marc Jacobs may have gone make-up free but unless you’re blessed with perfect skin it is not an option for everyone. Yes, concentrate on skincare as this is key for the look but a few choice make-up products after will help you with your natural glowing complexion.
I was asked by Natural Health for tips on how to achieve the look for their New Year Beauty Resolutions feature in the January issue.
Try using an oil mixed into your moisturiser or on its own to boost your complexion and help it glow naturally. Use lightweight products, no heavy formulations – my favourite BB cream is by Balance Me – it brightens and gives a nice light coverage.
