Organic Beauty Week #campaign4clarity

September 14, 2015 by loudartford

Each Organic September, Organic Beauty Week is getting bigger and better. This year it starts today, and as well as encouraging people to change their beauty regimes, the Soil Association have launched their Campaign For Clarity in a bid to help stop greenwashing in the beauty industry. Organic beauty is becoming more and more popular, so it makes sense that other beauty brands want a piece of the action. However that action is not always as clean and honest as it […]

Why I choose organic..

September 8, 2015 by loudartford

When planning this week’s blog post, I couldn’t decide what to write. Should I write about my favourite organic moisturiser, my favourite organic eyeshadow, or perhaps one of my favourite organic brands. With all this organic talk – it is of course organic September – I thought that maybe I should actually explain why I choose organic. I choose organic for many reasons, the first being because of the farming and production methods used. The use of artificial pesticides and herbicides […]

It’s Organic September time…

September 1, 2015 by loudartford

We seem to have raced through this far year too quickly, I can’t believe it is September already. That said it is my favourite time of year, I love autumn. I love the colours turning on the trees, the nights getting shorter (give me a shorter autumnal day over a longer summer’s day anytime!). Another good thing about September is the Soil Association’s Organic Your September Campaign. This yearly event is about celebrating all things organic, be it farming, food, […]

New Weleda products…

August 25, 2015 by loudartford

I had the very hard task one sunny afternoon in July, of eating almond cakes while learning about the new Weleda products, set to join the already well established almond family… Born in 1921 in Switzerland, Weleda are one of the leading natural health and beauty brands sold across the globe. They are still owned by their original founders, and adhere to the strong values that were just as important back then as they are now. Weleda are certified 100% […]

Product of the month – One Love Organics Skin Savior Beauty Balm

August 11, 2015 by loudartford

LOVE. I am currently using this as my make-up remover and I love it. I use it to take my eye make-up off first – it literally lifts it away so no tugging on the delicate eye area. Then I massage it into the rest of my face to dissolve face make-up and daily grime. I use damp cotton pads to remove product from my eyes and then a muslin cloth or flannel to cleanse my face – the cotton pads […]

Product of the month – Odylique Coconut Candy Scrub

July 7, 2015 by loudartford

If, like me, you have forgotten that your whole body is covered in skin – as opposed to just face and hands – it is probably crying out for some TLC. The hot weather unfortunately reveals neglected skin as we need to strip down in a bid to keep cool. I used to be quite good with my body care, I dry brushed every morning, creamed every day and did a scrub on a kind of regular basis. Now my […]

Sleep is for wimps – just get a good serum….

June 4, 2015 by loudartford

Well that’s what I’ve been telling myself…. One of the best things you can do for your skin is to sleep well every night. Easier said than done for many reasons for many people. So if you’re not getting enough regular shut eye, what is the next best thing? A good serum can help; it might not make you feel bright eyed and bushy tailed but it can certainly boost the glowing skin stakes. Serums are designed to be used […]

CACAO!

April 2, 2015 by loudartford

I know there is much more to Easter than just chocolate, but as a lot will be consumed over the long weekend, it inspired a mention…. The cacao tree is where it all started deep in the jungles of Central and South America, as far back as the Mayans and the Aztecs. The cacao bean is the magic powerhouse of nutrients that comes from it and what everyone goes crazy for. Cacao is an amazing source of antioxidants as well […]

Product of the month – Tata Harper Restorative Eye Creme

March 24, 2015 by loudartford

Under every good make-up is good skincare. A good skin regime is essential if you want your make-up to sit nicely and have longevity. Before I apply make-up to anyone’s skin I will prep it with a good moisturiser or oil and always with an eye cream. The skin around the eyes is so fine and delicate that make-up can easily look heavy and actually make things look worse if you don’t look after it first. I’ve always suffered from […]

Product of the month – Weleda Skin Food

January 16, 2015 by loudartford

I love this. You can use it anywhere. My dry cracked knuckles are particularly liking it at the moment, my cheeks also love a bit to brighten and give them a nice healthy sheen. Skin Food does exactly what it says on the tin, it feeds the skin. It is a rich cream packed full of nourishing ingredients such as sunflower seed and sweet almond oil, calendula, chamomile and rosemary. The formulation hasn’t changed since 1926 – Weleda knew what […]

There was definitely spring in the air today ✨not that I don’t like winter but a little bit of warmer air and some sunshine might do my skin some good!! If your skin is in need of a little boost like mine, creamy blush and highlighters can be an easy way to add a healthy radiant glow - powders can sit in dehydration lines and makes things look worse sometimes.. this is @theorganicpharmacy highlighter before any fingers went in! I love to use fingers to apply - use one to gentle stipple product on and then a clean one to blend ✨how do you apply yours? . . . . . . #skin #winterskin #spring #skincare #makeuptips #beautytips #mua #makeupartist #greenmakeupartist #greenbeauty #cleanbeauty #organicbeauty #makeup #highlighter #radiantskin #creamblush
#tbt to this lovely valentines shoot a few years back with @ruifaria_ ❤️❤️ Can’t remember exactly what I used but I’m sure a lipstick for the red and pink and then I think Bella Pierre for the glitter (obvs would make sure it was biodegradable if did it again) ✨ ❤️💚❤️💚❤️hope your evening is full of ❤️ . . . . . . #valentinesday2019❤️ #makeup #valentinesmakeup #glitter #redeyeshadow #redlipstick #organiclipstick #beauty #greenbeauty #organicbeauty #cleanbeauty #mua #makeupartist #greenmakeupartist
#selfcaresunday of course it isn’t all about skincare by any stretch but I do like to do some nice skin stuff on a Sunday :) Tonight I’m actually keeping it so simple though, my skin is feeling sensitive and I’ve got some itchy dehydrated patches.. I’ve cleansed with @beautykitchen Prime Time Cream Cleanser (which I’ve used all week and it’s removed all makeup, washes off easily and feels nice and calming on my skin) and then I’ve gently massaged in some of @mallowandwhite chamomile and lavender oil 💜 these two ingredients are my go-tos whenever my skin is feeling delicate, simple but my skin seems to love them 💜 What’s your Sunday self-care? Image by @felicityingram skin by me :) (this was actually a food shoot and I think this was cream that we used.. lots of skin food in the kitchen..) . . . . . . . #skin #skinfood #skincare #skinroutine #skinregime #organicskincare #greenskincare #cleanskincare #beauty #makeupartist #beautyblog #greenbeautyblog #greenbeautyblogger #faceoil #plantoils

#newblogpost talking about two beauty recycling programmes available through the wonderful @terracycleuk ♻️ 💚I’m getting slightly obsessed by the possibilities available... crisp and snack packets, pens, dental care, pet food... check them out! ✨back to the beauty... did you know you can recycle lots of your beauty empties at participating @loccitane_uk_ire stores including lipsticks, empty eyeshadow cases and mascara tubes... wipe and face mask wrappers (along with other waste) can be recycled through @garnieruk free programme as well... Any recycling tips?! ♻️♻️ . . . . . #sustainablebeauty #recycling #recycle #packaging #beautypackaging #beauty #makeup #greenbeauty #ecobeauty #makeupartist #greenbeautyblogger #beautyblogger #greenbeautyblog #noplanetb
🍓❤️🍓currently loving this Strawberry Booster from @bybibeauty I’ve been using it on me and a couple of clients and they’ve loved it too 🍓❤️ Just pure cold pressed strawberry oil (waste product from juicing industry ✅)- a couple of drops goes a long way. It works so well under makeup, giving skin a brilliant boost and helping foundation etc to go on smoother, but isn’t really shiny just gives skin a natural glow. I’ve also been using it as a pick-me-up over makeup in the middle of day - especially in this cold weather ❄️my product of the week for sure - and great value £12.50 ✅🍓 How are you beating the ❄️❄️? . . . . . . #skin #skincare #winterskin #sustainablebeauty #cleanbeauty #naturalbeauty #beautyblogger #greenbeauty #greenbeautyblogger #greenmakeupartist #mua #makeupartist
